SMALL BATHROOM REMODELING IDEAS

If your bathroom is not spacious enough, it does not mean that it has to be uncomfortable or ugly. On a contrary, there are several small bathroom remodeling ideas which can help you. In small rooms, every inch counts. That means you will have to choose very carefully every piece of the furniture, from vanity cabinet to shelves, from sink to bathtub to floor tiles and colors for the walls.

Usually, it will not be difficult to find a small sink. There are many manufacturers who produce them.

You can choose between corner sink,    pedestal or wall-hung sink depending on the available space and your preferences. You must pay attention to the type of the faucet you are going to choose. It has to be the right size and placed in the right position or you will not be able to get your hands into the sink.  Placing the faucet in corner is good way to gain some more space.                            Pedestals look good in small bathrooms but if you opt for this type of sink you will have to give up the vanity cabinet while wall-hung sinks allow you to install one.

You can get custom made vanity cabinet; it won’t be cheap but you will get some storage place. Another solution is to buy vanity top with integral sink.

Standard dimensions for the bathtub is 5 feet long and 30 to 32 inches wide. Although some manufacturers offer smaller bathtubs and even custom made, it is better to install a shower instead. Small bathroom will look larger and with modern showers you will get maximum comfort.

When choosing a toilet, keep in mind few things: when the toilet is closer to the wall, bathroom seems larger; the same is with one-piece toilets. One-piece toilets have tanks which are placed low; that works better for small bathrooms.

There are some more tricks that can help enlarge the bathroom without removing the walls. Choose pale and soft colors for walls and floor and leave the bright ones for accessories and details. You can use light-colored rug to cover the floor if you can’t change the flooring. Play with lamps to bring more light into the space. Skylight is excellent solution for small bathrooms. Large mirrors are very good for creating the illusion of bigger space. You can place one in front the sink and that will bring more light into the room. Decorative mural which looks like a window, garden or any other open space will look great.

As you can see, few little tricks and lot of imagination can make your small bathroom into space of great luxury and pleasure.
